CDL Programs
At Columbia Driving School we offer two types of CDL Classes:
- Class A CDL Training and
- CDL Class A Brush-up Course.
Class A CDL Training
Our Class A TRACTOR/TRAILER OPERATOR PROGRAM is designed for entry level driver preparation of the Illinois CDL test and successful employment through an intensive four to sixteen-week program. Field and classroom training provide a combined total of 160 hours.
Class A CDL training includes:
- DOT Safety Rules and Regulations,
- State regulations, and
- Proficiency development in the skills required to obtain employment.
Columbia Driving School offers day, evening, and weekend classes. Our professional staff always tries to meet individual needs of our students.
Field training includes both observation and behind the wheel time. The field training consists of driving in training areas that include a combination of highway, city and heavy traffic driving. Drivers graduating from this course will normally have all endorsements and be prepared to work nationwide, regionally and locally for the nation's largest truckload carriers.
CDL Class A Brush-up Course
This program is designed for drivers who already have CDL Class B or C licenses and want to upgrade to a CDL Class A. This program includes classroom, observation and behind the wheel instruction to prepare students for written and practical state CDL examinations.
